I use data analysis, audience insights, and visual elements in my reporting for Quartz. My latest story, Here’s what Americans search for after a mass shooting, analyzes Google search trends immediately following a tragedy to illustrate how quickly interest in gun violence fades.

Inc. Magazine: Editorial Newsletter

I programmed the daily Inc. Must Reads editorial newsletter featuring the top five “must read” stories for the day. I was responsible for selecting editorial content for inclusion, writing newsletter-specific headlines for individual stories, and optimizing subject lines through A/B testing.

Time Out: Sydney, Australia

I wrote and edited daily event listings for print and the web using Time Out’s specialized CMS. I served as a fact checker and editor for feature stories across the music, nightlife, food, art, and entertainment sections, and I contributed two written pieces for the August 2014 print issue.

I was responsible for commissioning, editing, and publishing news, lifestyle, and investigative articles from students across The Tab Media’s US university network. I worked with the local news teams to cover student protests, regional events, and first-person experience pieces.
